## The draw at a glance

**The Breeders' Cup draw was made at Keeneland on Monday 26 October, and 49 European-trained horses are in the final entries: 45 in the fields and four on the also-eligible list.** Every one of them is in a turf race. None is in the Classic or any of the other six dirt races.

That is down from 64 European horses at the pre-entry stage on 21 October. Across the whole meeting, the Breeders' Cup says 186 horses were entered for the 14 races, 62 of them international contenders in its own count.

This page lists the draw for the seven races with European runners, race by race: the post position (the American term for the stall), the trainer, the jockey and the morning line. Then it covers who stayed at home, and what our own results files say about the team.

**In this guide**

- [Friday: the three juvenile turf races](#friday)
- [Saturday: the Turf Sprint, Filly & Mare Turf, Mile and Turf](#saturday)
- [Who came out, and what the team won at home](#who-came-out)
- [Betting on it from the UK](#betting)

### Reading the tables

- **Post** is the starting stall, counted out from the inside rail. "AE" means also-eligible: the horse only runs if one above it comes out, and the number is its place in the queue.
- **Morning line** is the track's own opening estimate of the odds, written the American way (5-2 rather than a slash). It is set by the track's oddsmaker on the day of the draw, not by a bookmaker, and the real pool odds move away from it as money comes in.
- **UK times** are four hours ahead of Kentucky on both days. British clocks went back on Sunday 25 October and American clocks do not go back until 1 November.

The full UK start times for all 14 races are in our [Breeders' Cup guide](/racing-news/breeders-cup/), and the [festival hub](/festivals/breeders-cup/) has the countdown.

## Friday: the three juvenile turf races

Friday's card is for two-year-olds. Europe has runners in the three turf races and none in the Juvenile or the Juvenile Fillies, both on dirt.

### Juvenile Turf Sprint: 6.55pm UK

Nine of the 12 runners are trained in Britain, Ireland or France, with a tenth on the also-eligible list. Libertango is the morning-line favourite at 5-2. In our results files she won two of her four runs from June, the Lowther among them, and was second to Sun Goddess in the Cheveley Park.

<div data-element="data-table">

| 5 | Mussab | Richard Fahey | Oisin Orr | 15-1 |
| 6 | Velozee | Paddy Twomey | Tyler Gaffalione | 20-1 |

</div>

The other three are American-trained: Good to Be King (post 2), Brickyard Belle (post 4, 3-1) and Harper's Corner (post 10).

### Juvenile Fillies Turf: 8.15pm UK

Sun Goddess is the 6-5 morning-line favourite from post 9 for Aidan O'Brien. In our results files she won all three of her Group 1s from June (the Phoenix Stakes, the Moyglare and the Cheveley Park) and carries a StableBet Rating of 119, our figure for home form. Amusingly, who beat the colts in the Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere for Francis-Henri Graffard, is next in the betting at 7-2.

<div data-element="data-table">

| Post | Horse | Trainer | Jockey | Morning line |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Green Empress | Joseph O'Brien | Dylan Browne McMonagle | 10-1 |
| 3 | Curracloe | Johnny Murtagh | Ben Coen | 12-1 |
| 6 | Alwaysanangel | Joseph O'Brien | Oisin Murphy | 15-1 |

| 10 | Amusingly | Francis-Henri Graffard | Colin Keane | 7-2 |
| 11 | Scommessa Sicura | Andrew Balding | Billy Loughnane | 30-1 |
| 14 | Ballinea Star | Robson Aguiar | Tyler Gaffalione | 30-1 |
| AE15 | Silent Beauty | Kevin Philippart De Foy | David Egan | 30-1 |

</div>

The official entries list spells the post-14 filly "Balliena Star"; our results files and Horse Racing Nation have Ballinea Star.

### Juvenile Turf: 9.35pm UK

Eight Europeans line up, four of them for Aidan O'Brien. The morning-line favourite is the American-trained How's Al Today at 3-1. Folsom Blues, who won the National Stakes at the Curragh at 11/2 for Joseph O'Brien, is the shortest European at 7-2, ahead of Great Barrier Reef at 4-1.

<div data-element="data-table">

| Post | Horse | Trainer | Jockey | Morning line |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2 | Avec Toi | Christopher Head | Flavien Prat | 10-1 |
| 3 | Florida Bay | Aidan O'Brien | Wayne Lordan | 20-1 |
| 4 | Haffner | Aidan O'Brien | Christophe Soumillon | 8-1 |
| 6 | Pikachu | Charlie Johnston | David Egan | 30-1 |
| 9 | Sale Shark | Hugo Palmer | Oisin Murphy | 30-1 |
| 10 | Folsom Blues | Joseph O'Brien | Dylan Browne McMonagle | 7-2 |
| 11 | Man's Best Friend | Aidan O'Brien | Colin Keane | 15-1 |
| 14 | Great Barrier Reef | Aidan O'Brien | Ryan Moore | 4-1 |

</div>

Haffner won three of his six runs in our results files from June. Avec Toi has won all four of his starts for Christopher Head, according to the Breeders' Cup, starting at Saint-Cloud in June. None came in Britain or Ireland, so our files hold nothing on him.

## Saturday: the Turf Sprint, Filly & Mare Turf, Mile and Turf

On the Saturday, Europe's runners are in four of the nine races, all on turf. The Filly & Mare Sprint, Dirt Mile, Sprint, Distaff and Classic have none.

### Turf Sprint: 5.48pm UK

Comanche Brave is 3-1 from post 7 for Donnacha O'Brien. In our results files he won the July Cup at 11/1 and the Flying Five at the Curragh. The morning-line favourite at 5-2 is Bacio, trained in America by Wesley Ward, who won the Nunthorpe at York in August.

<div data-element="data-table">

| Post | Horse | Trainer | Jockey | Morning line |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 7 | Comanche Brave | Donnacha O'Brien | Billy Loughnane | 3-1 |
| 13 | Starlust | Ralph Beckett | Rossa Ryan | 20-1 |
| 14 | Miss Yechance | Karl Burke | Jack Nicholls | 15-1 |
| AE15 | Big Mojo | Michael Appleby | Tom Marquand | 20-1 |

</div>

Starlust won this race in 2024 and is one of ten past Breeders' Cup winners in the entries. Miss Yechance comes in off a win in the Prix de l'Abbaye at Longchamp.

### Filly & Mare Turf: 7.04pm UK

Blue Bolt runs here rather than in the Mile and is the 5-2 favourite from post 12, with Precise drawn next to her in 11 at 7-2. Blue Bolt won all four of her runs in our results files from June, three of them Group 1s (the Falmouth, the Matron and the Sun Chariot), and has a StableBet Rating of 119. Precise won the Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot.

<div data-element="data-table">

| Post | Horse | Trainer | Jockey | Morning line |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 4 | Red Letter | Ger Lyons | Dylan Browne McMonagle | 12-1 |

| 11 | Precise | Aidan O'Brien | Ryan Moore | 7-2 |
| 12 | Blue Bolt | Andrew Balding | Colin Keane | 5-2 |

</div>

Diamond Necklace, pre-entered here as well, runs in the Turf instead.

### Mile: 8.20pm UK

Notable Speech, last year's winner, is the 7-5 favourite from post 8 for Charlie Appleby and William Buick. He won the City of York Stakes in our results files and came here off the Woodbine Mile. Five of the 14 runners are European.

<div data-element="data-table">

| Post | Horse | Trainer | Jockey | Morning line |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2 | Lake Forest | William Haggas | Cieren Fallon | 6-1 |
| 7 | Qirat | Ralph Beckett | Colin Keane | 30-1 |
| 8 | Notable Speech | Charlie Appleby | William Buick | 7-5 |
| 12 | True Love | Aidan O'Brien | Wayne Lordan | 8-1 |
| 14 | Puerto Rico | Aidan O'Brien | Ryan Moore | 10-1 |

</div>

Lake Forest ran three times in Group 1s in Britain and Ireland from June without winning one, then was second in the Coolmore Turf Mile over this course on 3 October. True Love's last run was a win in the Prix de la Foret, with Puerto Rico third.

### Turf: 9.36pm UK

Nine of the 14 runners are European, with a tenth on the also-eligible list. Diamond Necklace is the 3-1 favourite from post 12 for Aidan O'Brien, ridden by Christophe Soumillon. She was third in the Arc on 4 October. The defending champion, Ethical Diamond, has the rail.

<div data-element="data-table">

| Post | Horse | Trainer | Jockey | Morning line |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Ethical Diamond | Willie Mullins | Dylan Browne McMonagle | 10-1 |
| 2 | Benvenuto Cellini | Aidan O'Brien | Ryan Moore | 6-1 |
| 5 | El Cordobes | Charlie Appleby | William Buick | 15-1 |
| 7 | Hotazhell | Jessica Harrington | Shane Foley | 15-1 |
| 9 | Johanna Walsh | Joseph O'Brien | Mickael Barzalona | 12-1 |
| 10 | Tiffany | Sir Mark Prescott | Luke Morris | 10-1 |
| 11 | Survie | George Boughey | Flavien Prat | 15-1 |
| 12 | Diamond Necklace | Aidan O'Brien | Christophe Soumillon | 3-1 |
| 13 | Bay City Roller | George Scott | Oisin Murphy | 5-1 |
| AE15 | Map Of Stars | Francis-Henri Graffard | James Doyle | 20-1 |

</div>

Five of these won a Group 1 in our results files from June: Benvenuto Cellini (the Irish Derby, 7/4), Bay City Roller (the Coronation Cup, 17/2), Johanna Walsh (the Irish Oaks, 7/2), Diamond Necklace (the Nassau, 4/6) and Hotazhell (the Irish Champion Stakes, 50/1). Bay City Roller also has a StableBet Rating of 119, the same as Blue Bolt and Sun Goddess. Tiffany and Survie both won Turf qualifiers in America this summer, Tiffany at Kentucky Downs and Survie at Saratoga.

## Who came out, and what the team won at home

Seven of the best-known European names from the pre-entry list are not in any final field. We have checked each against the official entries and Horse Racing Nation's field tables.

- Ombudsman was ruled out of the Turf on pre-entry day, 21 October, after winning the Champion Stakes at Ascot.
- Minnie Hauk, the winner of the Champions Fillies & Mares Stakes, was pre-entered for the Turf.
- Lambourn was also pre-entered for the Turf.
- Gstaad, Constitution River and Ten Bob Tony were pre-entered for the Mile.
- Al Hudaiba was pre-entered for the Juvenile Turf.

The connections of the last six have not given reasons that we could find, so we have not guessed at one.

Two horses switched races between the two stages. Blue Bolt was pre-entered for the Mile and the Filly & Mare Turf and runs in the Filly & Mare Turf. Diamond Necklace was pre-entered for the Turf and the Filly & Mare Turf and runs in the Turf.

In the Classic, the 8 final entries include no European runner. Further Ado and Forged Steel, both pre-entered for the Classic, were entered in the Dirt Mile instead. The full Classic draw is on our [Classic preview](/racing-news/breeders-cup-classic-2026-preview/).

### What the team won at home this year

Our results files hold every British and Irish run from 1 June 2026. Over that span 46 Group 1 races were run in the two countries, from the Oaks at Epsom on 5 June to the last of them at Doncaster on 24 October.

- **The 49 European horses in the final entries won 16 of those 46 Group 1s,** shared between 11 horses. Sun Goddess and Blue Bolt won three each and Comanche Brave won two.
- **The seven who stayed at home won five more.** Ombudsman won two (the Prince of Wales's Stakes and the Champion Stakes), with one each for Minnie Hauk, Constitution River (the Eclipse) and Ten Bob Tony (the Queen Anne at 50/1).
- **Gstaad has the highest StableBet Rating** of any European on the pre-entry list, 124, and is not travelling. Among those entered, Sun Goddess, Blue Bolt and Bay City Roller share the highest, 119.

Two cautions. Our files start on 1 June, so the Guineas meetings and the early-season Group 1s are missing, as are runs in France, America and Dubai. And a rating is a reading of a horse's last run at home on the British and Irish scale: it says nothing about how that horse handles a flight to Kentucky or a tight American turf course. The [StableBet Rating](/ai-race-predictor/lab/stablebet-rating/) page explains how it is worked out.

Our model rates British and Irish racing only, so it has no prices for the Breeders' Cup. The [Breeders' Cup tips](/racing-news/breeders-cup-tips/) page has each European's season in more detail, and the [trends and stats](/racing-news/breeders-cup-trends-and-stats/) page has Europe's record race by race.

## Betting on it from the UK

A morning line is not a bookmaker's price. It is one oddsmaker's guess at how the American pools will bet the race, published with the draw. The pool odds on the track's board change until the off, and a UK bookmaker sets its own prices, which can be some way from either.

- **Fields are now set, but not final.** A horse can still be scratched before the race, and an also-eligible runs only if one comes out. If you bet before the day, check what your bookmaker does with a non-runner: [ante-post betting explained](/betting/bet-types/ante-post-betting/) covers it.
- **Each-way terms vary.** Places and the fraction are set by each bookmaker for each race. Our [each-way guide](/betting/bet-types/each-way/) explains the terms.
- **Concessions may not apply.** Check whether Best Odds Guaranteed or any other offer your bookmaker runs on British racing also covers American races.
- **Late nights.** The Turf is off at about 9.36pm UK time on the Saturday and the Classic at about 10.16pm.

To compare firms before the Friday card, see [the best bookmakers for horse racing](/bookmakers/best-bookmakers-horse-racing/) and [the best free bet offers](/bookmakers/best-free-bet-offers/). The winners will be on our [Breeders' Cup 2026 results page](/racing-news/breeders-cup-2026-results/) after each card.

### Bet responsibly

Two evenings of racing that run past 10pm make it easy to keep betting longer than you meant to. Set one budget for the weekend before the first race on Friday and stop when it is spent. The bookmaker's margin is in every price, so over time the odds run against you. The horse notes (Libertango's Lowther, Amusingly's Lagardere, Starlust's 2024 win, Lake Forest's run at Keeneland, the American qualifiers) are from the official Breeders' Cup horse profiles and Horse Racing Nation's last-start column. Group 1 counts, prices and StableBet Ratings are from our own British and Irish results files, 1 June to 26 October 2026. The European count treats a horse as European when its trainer is based in Britain, Ireland or France, whatever its breeding suffix, so Evershed and Sorrento Sky, Irish-bred but trained in America, are left out. The pre-entry figures are from the Breeders' Cup's 21 October release, as recorded on our [tips page](/racing-news/breeders-cup-tips/).
