## The Filly and Mare Turf at a glance

**The Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Turf is run at Keeneland on Saturday 31 October, and Blue Bolt is the 5-2 morning-line favourite from post 12.** The draw was made on Monday 26 October. Fourteen run, four of them trained in Europe, and Aidan O'Brien's Precise is drawn next to the favourite in 11 at 7-2.

The race is a Grade 1 on turf for fillies and mares aged three and older, over 1m 1f 110y at Keeneland. It is race 7 on the Saturday card, due off at 3.04pm in Kentucky, which is 7.04pm in Britain.

The draw for every race with a European runner is in our [Breeders' Cup 2026 draw guide](/racing-news/breeders-cup-2026-draw-european-runners/), and the [Breeders' Cup tips](/racing-news/breeders-cup-tips/) page covers the whole European team.

## The European runners and their draw

Post positions are counted out from the inside rail. The morning line is the track's opening estimate of the odds, set at the draw and written the American way; the pool odds move away from it as money comes in, and a UK bookmaker's price is its own.

<div data-element="data-table">

| Post | Horse | Trainer | Jockey | Morning line |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 4 | Red Letter | Ger Lyons | Dylan Browne McMonagle | 12-1 |
| 8 | Jancis | Willie McCreery | Billy Lee | 20-1 |
| 11 | Precise | Aidan O'Brien | Ryan Moore | 7-2 |
| 12 | Blue Bolt | Andrew Balding | Colin Keane | 5-2 |

The other ten runners are trained in America. Blue Bolt was pre-entered for the Mile as well and runs here. Diamond Necklace, pre-entered for this race and the Turf, runs in the Turf.

## Blue Bolt and Precise, drawn side by side

**Blue Bolt** has won all four of her runs in our results files, which start on 1 June: the Duke of Cambridge Stakes at Royal Ascot, then the Falmouth at Newmarket, the Matron at Leopardstown and the Sun Chariot at Newmarket, the last three all Group 1s. Colin Keane rode her each time and rides again. Her StableBet Rating from the Sun Chariot is 119, the joint-highest of any European runner at the meeting.

All four of those wins came over seven furlongs or a mile. This race is further, and she has not raced at this trip in our files. That is the main question for her, along with a wide draw on a tight turf course.

**Precise** won the Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot at 8/13. She then met Blue Bolt twice: second to her in the Falmouth, beaten as the 4/5 favourite, and fifth behind her in the Matron. The Matron on 12 September is her last run in our files. Ryan Moore rides, as he did in all three.

So the two are drawn together, and on what they have done this summer Blue Bolt is ahead. The morning line says the same, at 5-2 against 7-2.

The [StableBet Rating](/ai-race-predictor/lab/stablebet-rating/) page explains how a rating is worked out. It is a reading on the British and Irish scale and says nothing about how a horse copes with the trip to Kentucky.

## Red Letter and Jancis

**Red Letter**, trained by Ger Lyons, is the European with the most experience at around this trip. Both her runs in our files were over a mile and a quarter at the Curragh: third in the Pretty Polly Stakes, a Group 1, in June and third in the Blandford Stakes, a Group 2, in September. Dylan Browne McMonagle rides from post 4, and she is 12-1.

**Jancis**, trained by Willie McCreery, was second to Blue Bolt in the Duke of Cambridge at Royal Ascot at 16/1, then fifth in the Falmouth. That run on 10 July is her last in our files. Billy Lee rides from post 8 at 20-1.

Our files cover British and Irish racing only, so any run abroad is missing from these lines.

## Europe's record in the race

European stables have won seven of the last ten runnings. The winners since 2016 include Tuesday for Aidan O'Brien in 2022, the last time the race was at Keeneland, Inspiral for John and Thady Gosden in 2023, and Gezora for Francis-Henri Graffard in France last year.

The three that went elsewhere were Sistercharlie for Chad Brown in 2018, Loves Only You from Japan in 2021 and Moira in 2024.

The full list, and Europe's record in every other Breeders' Cup race, is on our [trends and stats page](/racing-news/breeders-cup-trends-and-stats/). A good record for European horses in the race says nothing about which of this year's four will run well.

## Betting it from the UK

UK bookmakers price the Filly & Mare Turf, but on-course betting in America runs through pools, so the odds on the track's board are a dividend that keeps moving until the off. Your bookmaker's price is its own.

- **The draw is done, the field is not final.** A horse can still be scratched before the race. [Ante-post betting explained](/betting/bet-types/ante-post-betting/) covers what happens to your stake.
- **Check the terms.** Each-way places and any Best Odds Guaranteed concession are set by each bookmaker, and many apply only to British and Irish racing. See our [each-way guide](/betting/bet-types/each-way/).
- **Our model does not cover it.** The AI Lab rates British and Irish racing only, so there are no model prices for this race. For British and Irish meetings, [our racecards](/racecards/) carry the model's view.
- **TV.** The race comes before ITV4's Saturday window, so check your racing channel's listings. The [Breeders' Cup guide](/racing-news/breeders-cup/) has the details.

The winners will be on our [Breeders' Cup 2026 results page](/racing-news/breeders-cup-2026-results/) after the card. Compare firms through [the best free bet offers](/bookmakers/best-free-bet-offers/).

Every form line, starting price and StableBet Rating is from our own British and Irish results files, 1 June to 26 October 2026, so runs before June or outside Britain and Ireland are not included.

Morning lines are dated 26 October 2026 and will move. Checked on 28 October 2026.
