## The Juvenile Turf at a glance

**The Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf closes the Friday card at Keeneland on 30 October, and eight of the 14 drawn runners are trained in Europe.** Four of them are Aidan O'Brien's. The draw was made on Monday 26 October. The American-trained How's Al Today is the 3-1 morning-line favourite, with the National Stakes winner Folsom Blues the shortest of the Europeans at 7-2 and Great Barrier Reef next at 4-1.

The Juvenile Turf is a Grade 1 over 1m on turf for two-year-old colts and geldings, first run in 2007. It is due off at 5.35pm in Kentucky, which is 9.35pm in Britain. O'Brien won it last year with Gstaad, who is not in this year's Breeders' Cup line-up.

Dates, UK times and TV for the whole meeting are in our [Breeders' Cup guide](/racing-news/breeders-cup/). ## The draw

Post positions are counted out from the inside rail. The morning line is the track's opening estimate of the odds, set at the draw and written the American way; the pool odds move away from it as money comes in, and a UK bookmaker's price is its own.

Posts 12 and 13 are American-trained. We could confirm their names in only one source before publishing, so they are left out of the table until a second source agrees.

Great Barrier Reef is drawn widest of all. Folsom Blues and Man's Best Friend are next to each other in 10 and 11, and Haffner is the best drawn of the O'Brien four in post 4.

## The European team

Form below is from our results files, which hold every British and Irish run from 1 June 2026. Runs in France are not in them.

**Folsom Blues** (Joseph O'Brien) won the National Stakes at the Curragh on 13 September at 11/2, beating Florida Bay into third and Haffner into seventh. Before that he was second in the Phoenix Stakes and second in the Tyros Stakes. He won two of his four runs at home, and both wins came at seven furlongs. This is his first try at a mile.

**Great Barrier Reef** (Aidan O'Brien) won the Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot from 20 rivals and was third in the Dewhurst at Newmarket on 10 October, his first run beyond six furlongs. He has never raced over a mile, and Ryan Moore rides from the outside post.

**Haffner** is the only one of the four O'Brien runners to have won over a mile. He took the Royal Lodge at Newmarket on 26 September, after winning the Acomb at York, and three of his six runs at home were wins. His one poor run was in the National Stakes. Christophe Soumillon, who rode Gstaad to win this race last year, rides him.

**Man's Best Friend** won the Richmond Stakes at Goodwood over six furlongs. **Florida Bay** won the Tyros Stakes and was placed in the Futurity and the National Stakes.

For Britain, **Pikachu** (Charlie Johnston) was fourth in the Golden Fleece at Leopardstown over nine furlongs, and **Sale Shark** (Hugo Palmer) has raced only at five and six furlongs, winning the Roses Stakes at York.

**Avec Toi** has won all four of his starts for Christopher Head in France, according to the Breeders' Cup. Our files hold nothing on him.

## The American challenge

**How's Al Today** is the 3-1 morning-line favourite from post 5 under Brian Hernandez Jr.

The other Americans with confirmed posts are Induction (post 1), Let Em Know (post 7) and Liam's Law (post 8). None of them has run in Britain or Ireland, so our files hold nothing on their form, and we have not tried to compare them with the Europeans.

## Betting it from the UK

UK bookmakers price the Juvenile Turf, but on-course betting in America runs through pools, so the odds on the track's board are a dividend that keeps moving until the off. Your bookmaker's price is its own.

- **The draw is done, the field is not final.** A horse can still be scratched before the race, and an also-eligible can come in. [Ante-post betting explained](/betting/bet-types/ante-post-betting/) covers what happens to your stake.
- **Check the terms.** Each-way places and any Best Odds Guaranteed concession are set by each bookmaker, and many apply only to British and Irish racing. See our [each-way guide](/betting/bet-types/each-way/).
- **Our model does not cover it.** The AI Lab rates British and Irish racing only, so there are no model prices for Keeneland. Our [racecards](/racecards/) cover the British and Irish meetings the same day.

The race is due off at about 9.35pm UK time, the last of a long Friday evening. Set a budget first.
