## Tuesday's racing: four meetings and a 200/1 shock

The Stony Baker won the opening race at Catterick on Tuesday at a starting price of 200/1. Trained by L Williamson and ridden by K Stott, the juvenile won the 12:41pm EBF maiden over five furlongs on soft ground by a length from Cyberspace, who was both the favourite and the horse top-rated on the morning's StableBet Ratings. It was the longest-priced winner of the day by a distance; the next-longest was They Want Me at 11/1 at Bangor-on-Dee.

Five meetings were scheduled for Tuesday 27 October 2026, with 38 races between them. Galway's eight-race card on heavy ground did not go ahead, and our results feed lists every race there as abandoned, so 30 races were run, all in Britain. Bangor-on-Dee and Newcastle staged jumps cards, Catterick raced on the Flat on soft ground, and Wolverhampton's all-weather card ran into the evening, with the last race at 8:30pm.

Nobody rode or trained more than two winners. Theo Gillard and D McCain Jnr shared a double at Bangor, Oisin Murphy rode two winners for A M Balding at Wolverhampton, and Kielan Woods, Billy Loughnane and Marco Ghiani each rode two. Christian Williams and R Menzies also trained two winners each, Menzies at two different courses.

Every result from Tuesday, with full finishing orders, is on the [27 October results page](/racing-results/2026-10-27/), and the [racing results hub](/racing-results/) has the other days.

## Meeting by meeting

Times below are UK time. Prices are starting prices (SP).

### Bangor-on-Dee (good to soft, six jumps races)

Only one favourite won at Bangor: Rattlin Home (2/5) for Harry Skelton and D Skelton, by six and a half lengths in the 2:18pm novices' hurdle. Two other favourites fell. Glance Of Glory came down in the opening conditional jockeys' handicap hurdle, won by Aire Spray (15/2) for J Parkinson & S Smith and Oscar Palmer. In the 3:18pm novices' handicap chase, Laughing John (3/1) was one of three fallers, and eight of the 13 runners failed to finish. They Want Me (11/1) won it by three-quarters of a length from Just Golden.

They Want Me gave Theo Gillard and D McCain Jnr their double, after Iamyouare (11/2) had won the 2:47pm mares' handicap hurdle by a length and three-quarters. Air Apparent (10/1) won the 4:02pm handicap chase for J W Mullins and Paul O'Brien by half a length from the favourite Inedit D'amour, and My Bobby's Lass (17/2) took the closing three-mile handicap chase for Mrs M Rowley and Toby Wynne, with the favourite Twistthenightaway sixth.

### Catterick (soft, eight Flat races)

Favourites won both divisions of the five-furlong handicap: Battenburg Belle (10/3) for R Menzies and Jason Hart in the first division, then Eldeyaar (3/1) for A Brittain and Cam Hardie by four and a half lengths in the second. Lilykoy (11/4 favourite) won the 3:41pm staying handicap for Dylan Cunha and Jack Callan. Bladey Lady (5/2) won the nursery for T D Easterby and D Allan, and Marching Mac (5/1) won the 2:40pm handicap for P S McEntee, ridden by Grace McEntee; both had been top-rated that morning. Wobwobwob (6/1) won the 15-runner seven-furlong handicap for A Keatley and Barry McHugh, and Talismans Time (8/1) took the 4:10pm handicap over a mile and a half for E Bethell and C Horgan.

### Newcastle (good, seven jumps races)

Favourites won four of the seven. Wilde's Legacy (4/7) won the opening maiden hurdle for Jamie Snowden and G Sheehan, and Cawthorne Cracker (9/4) won the 2:02pm handicap hurdle for O Greenall & J Guerriero. Christian Williams trained two winners: Royal Time (6/4) in the four-runner novices' handicap chase, ridden by Mr J J Murphy-Knight, and Rule Me In (11/10) by four and three-quarter lengths in the 3:32pm handicap chase. Kielan Woods rode Rule Me In, half an hour after winning on North Of Richmond (9/4) for A M Hales, who beat the favourite Jentobello. Sleedagh (9/2) won the 2:31pm novices' limited handicap chase for L Russell & M Scudamore by the smallest margin from Kent De Thaix, one of the joint-favourites. Always Proud (9/4) won the closing bumper for D E Cantillon and J M Quinlan.

### Wolverhampton (standard, nine Flat races)

Oisin Murphy and A M Balding teamed up for two winners: Show Me Glory (4/5) in the 5:04pm fillies' maiden and Fahidi (5/2) in the 7:30pm handicap over a mile and a half. Murphy had six rides on the card. Billy Loughnane, with eight rides, won on Boy Basilica (13/8) for R Hughes and on Territorial Star (11/4) for R Menzies, the second by the narrowest margin from Barry The Worm. Marco Ghiani won on Mini Mac (3/1) for James Owen and Roi De Coeur (11/4) for M Botti. The longest-priced winner of the evening was Twitch (10/1), for Craig Benton and Josephine Gordon. Bajan Bandit (10/3) won the apprentice handicap for P Morris and Hope Regan, and Cabeza De Llave (11/4) won the 8:30pm sprint for M J Attwater and David Probert from stall one, beating the favourite Macanudo.

### Galway (heavy, abandoned)

All eight races on Galway's card are listed as abandoned in our results data, so no winners are recorded.

## Favourites and the StableBet Ratings: one day's numbers

The SP favourite won 13 of the 30 races. Only one race had joint-favourites, the 2:31pm chase at Newcastle, and neither won, so the count is the same however joint-favourites are treated. By meeting, favourites won five at Wolverhampton, four at Newcastle, three at Catterick and one at Bangor-on-Dee.

The horse top-rated on the morning's StableBet Ratings won seven of the 26 races that had ratings; four races, three novice or maiden contests and a bumper, had none. One of the seven, Cawthorne Cracker at Newcastle, shared the top rating with another runner, so the stricter figure is six. In four races the top-rated horse was also the favourite and won (Royal Time, Cawthorne Cracker, Show Me Glory and Roi De Coeur). The rating's top pick won three races where it was not the favourite (Bladey Lady, Marching Mac and Bajan Bandit), and the favourite won six rated races where the rating preferred something else. Bangor-on-Dee was the weak spot: none of its five rated races went to the top-rated horse, and two of those top-rated runners failed to finish.

Treat all of this as one day's numbers. Twenty-six races is far too few to say whether a rating is any good. The StableBet Rating's live test is read over a much larger sample, and the running record, wins and losses together, is on the [AI race predictor track record](/ai-race-predictor/track-record/). Nothing on this page suggests a way to make money from the ratings or from favourites.

### Bet responsibly

A weekend with the Breeders' Cup and a full jumps programme means a lot of betting in a short space of time. Decide on a budget before the weekend starts and keep to it, and count any free bet as part of that budget. Over time the odds work in the bookmaker's favour, however well a jockey or stable is going.
