Frequently Asked Questions
The honest answers — how these offers really work, and how we rank them. Full methodology on our how we rank page.
How does a deposit match bonus work?
The bookmaker matches your first deposit in bonus funds - deposit 50 pounds on a 100% match and you have 50 pounds of bonus alongside your cash. The bonus is not withdrawable when credited: it must be wagered through qualifying bets first.
What is a wagering requirement?
The number of times the bonus must be re-staked before it converts to withdrawable cash - 10x on a 50 pound bonus means 500 pounds of qualifying bets. It is the biggest catch in this mechanic, which is why our offer score applies its heaviest deduction for it.
Can I withdraw a deposit match straight away?
No - and withdrawing your cash balance before the wagering is complete usually forfeits the bonus and any winnings from it. If you think you might need the money back quickly, a simple bet-and-get offer suits you better.
Is a deposit match better than a free bet?
It depends almost entirely on the wagering requirement. A big matched amount looks generous, but at 10x wagering most bettors never convert it; a smaller stake-not-returned free bet with no wagering is often worth more in practice. Our scores make that trade-off mechanical rather than a judgement call.
Gamble Responsibly
Gambling should be entertaining and not seen as a way to make money. Never bet more than you can afford to lose. If you or someone you know has a gambling problem, help and support is available.
