The Qatar Goodwood Festival runs from Tuesday 28 July to Saturday 1 August 2026 on the Sussex Downs. This is the results hub: each day's key winners, with starting prices, added and verified from source as the cards finish. Nothing here is filled in ahead of time — a race appears only once it has been run and the result confirmed.
Five days, built around a run of championship features. Tuesday opens with the Goodwood Cup (Group 1, 2 miles), the summer's staying showpiece. Wednesday brings the Sussex Stakes (Group 1, 1 mile), widely held to be the definitive miler's championship of the European season. Thursday is Ladies' Day and the Nassau Stakes (Group 1, 1m 2f). Friday carries a deep card of Group 2 and Group 3 racing, and Saturday closes with the Stewards' Cup (Premier Handicap, 6f), the richest sprint handicap of the British calendar.
For the pre-meeting picture — the full schedule, the signature races and their past winners, TV coverage and the trends that point into festival week — see our Glorious Goodwood 2026 preview and race times. For each Group 1, the AI Race Predictor publishes an independent, calibrated probability for every declared runner ahead of the off — a second opinion, added to each day's section on the morning of the race. If you are opening an account for festival week, our Glorious Goodwood betting offers page compares the verified free bets and Best Odds Guaranteed firms.

Tuesday 28 July — Goodwood Cup Day
The festival opens with the Goodwood Cup (Group 1, 2 miles), the oldest race at the meeting and the middle leg of the stayers' summer between Royal Ascot's Gold Cup and the Doncaster Cup. Goodwood's round two miles, with its climbs and downhill drop into the straight, asks different questions of a stayer than Ascot's long home straight, and the race regularly reframes the Gold Cup form. It is the day's centrepiece on a card that also features the Molecomb Stakes (Group 3, 5f), the week's first juvenile sprint.
This section is updated with the winner, the placed horses and their starting prices once the Goodwood Cup is run and the result is confirmed from source. Check back after racing on Tuesday 28 July. The AI Race Predictor's independent read on the field will be added here on the morning of the race.
For the race's history and source-verified past winners, see the Goodwood Cup roll of honour in our festival preview.
Wednesday 29 July — Sussex Stakes Day
Wednesday's centrepiece is the Sussex Stakes (Group 1, 1 mile), the headline race of the festival and widely regarded as the definitive mile championship of the European season. First run in 1841, its modern roll of honour reads like a list of the best milers of the age, and it often brings together the three-year-old generation and the established older milers for the first time. The straight mile at Goodwood, with its downhill run to the finish, tends to reward speed held together to the line.
This section is updated with the winner, the placed horses and their starting prices once the Sussex Stakes is run and the result is confirmed from source. Check back after racing on Wednesday 29 July. The AI Race Predictor's independent read on the field will be added here on the morning of the race.
For the race's history and source-verified past winners, see the Sussex Stakes roll of honour in our festival preview.
Thursday 30 July — Nassau Stakes Day (Ladies' Day)
Ladies' Day is built around the Nassau Stakes (Group 1, 1m 2f), the fillies' and mares' middle-distance championship. First run in 1840, it has been won by some of the finest fillies of the modern era and often pits a top three-year-old against the best of the older mares over a trip that Goodwood's undulating course makes a searching test. It is the fashion highlight of the week as well as one of its strongest races.
This section is updated with the winner, the placed horses and their starting prices once the Nassau Stakes is run and the result is confirmed from source. Check back after racing on Thursday 30 July. The AI Race Predictor's independent read on the field will be added here on the morning of the race.
For the race's history and source-verified past winners, see the Nassau Stakes roll of honour in our festival preview.
Friday 31 July — the Group 2 and Group 3 card
Friday carries one of the deepest supporting cards of the flat summer: a run of Group 2 and Group 3 races and valuable handicaps, without a Group 1 but with plenty of black-type on the line. The sprinters are on show over the minimum trip, and several of the two-year-old and three-year-old features double as trials for the autumn.
This section is updated with Friday's key winners and their starting prices once the races are run and the results are confirmed from source. Check back after racing on Friday 31 July.
For the full festival schedule and the shape of the meeting, see our Glorious Goodwood 2026 preview and race times.
Saturday 1 August — Stewards' Cup Day
The festival closes with the Stewards' Cup (Premier Handicap, 6 furlongs), the richest sprint handicap of the British calendar and one of the biggest betting races of the summer. A full field of up to 28 charges down Goodwood's straight six, and the draw, the pace and the stand-side-versus-far-side split all feed one of the year's hardest puzzles. Ante-post markets on it open in late June and firm up through July, and it routinely produces a double-figure-priced winner.
This section is updated with the winner, the placed horses and their starting prices once the Stewards' Cup is run and the result is confirmed from source. Check back after racing on Saturday 1 August. The AI Race Predictor's independent read on the field will be added here on the morning of the race.
