York Ebor Betting Offers

The Sky Bet Ebor Festival runs from Wednesday 19 to Saturday 22 August 2026 at York. Four afternoons on the Knavesmire, a Group 1 feature on each of the first three days, and the richest flat handicap in Europe to finish. The table below is the quick answer: every row is a welcome offer we have checked against the operator's own terms, with the conditions that decide whether you can actually claim it.

The week builds to two very different betting problems, and they reward different things from a bookmaker.

Wednesday to Friday is Group racing. The Juddmonte International on Wednesday is the richest race of York's season and has been ranked the world's best horse race three times. Thursday is Ladies Day, built around the Yorkshire Oaks, regularly the strongest fillies' and mares' race in Europe. Friday brings the Nunthorpe, the fastest race of the meeting over the minimum trip, and one of the few Group 1 sprints where a two-year-old can take on older horses. Short fields, strong form, and prices that shorten through each morning.

Saturday is the Ebor itself. A mile and six furlongs, twenty-plus runners, and the biggest prize of any flat handicap in Europe, run every year since 1843. A field that size is an each-way race first and a win race second, so place terms and extra places move more money than the headline price does.

That first point is the one worth acting on before the meeting. Across three days of Group racing where markets shorten through the morning, Best Odds Guaranteed is worth more than any one-off free bet, because it pays out every time a price you took drifts into a bigger starting price. A £30 free bet pays once. BOG pays all week.

So the ranking below is not simply by the size of the free bet. It weighs what each partner brings to a four-day meeting where the markets move.

Below is what each partner actually brings to Ebor week. The welcome offer is the reason to open an account; the racing concessions are the reason to keep betting there across four days.

QuinnBet: 50% Back as a Free Bet up to £25

Welcome offer: 50% of your first-day net losses refunded as a free bet, capped at £25. New UK customers, 18+. Deposit and place a first bet of £10 or more on any sport at minimum odds of evens (2.00), then place at least two further bets on different events, each worth at least 50% of your largest bet, at evens or greater. Verified 18 August 2026.

The Ebor angle: QuinnBet keeps Best Odds Guaranteed on UK and Irish racing, applied to bets placed from 10am on the day of the race, with the extra winnings capped at £150 per bet. No BOG on ante-post, which is the industry-standard carve-out and worth knowing if you are backing something for the Ebor Handicap in advance rather than on the day. Alongside it sits a weekly concession paying 10% of your weekly net losses back as a free bet, capped at £20 and credited by 4pm on the Monday. Over four days where a losing afternoon is likely somewhere, a loss-back that settles weekly does more work than one that settles per bet. See our QuinnBet sign-up offer guide and QuinnBet review.

HighBet: Bet £10 Get £30 in Free Bets

Welcome offer: new verified UK customers, 18+, one welcome offer only across sports and casino. Opt in first, no promo code. Deposit £10+ by debit card and place a £10 qualifying bet at 1/1 (2.0) or bigger on any sport within 7 days of registering; Bet Builder and Cash Out bets do not qualify. The £30 arrives as three £10 Kick Off Tokens, each an accumulator needing 4+ selections at minimum combined odds of 4.0 with every leg at 1.30 or bigger. Each Kick Off Token that WINS then releases a further £10 token (Pro, then Elite, then Champion), up to £60 in total, and HighBet lists those cascade tokens with the same accumulator conditions, so treat every token as acca-only. £60 max payout per free bet, 7-day expiry. Verified 22 August 2026.

The Ebor angle: the three Kick Off Tokens are 4+ leg accumulators, so none of the opening £30 backs a lone Ebor fancy. Win one and the Pro token that follows is listed with the same accumulator conditions, so do not count on a straight single from any of it. What earns HighBet its place regardless is Best Odds Guaranteed, which pays across all four days on real-money bets. See our HighBet review.

BetGoodwin: Bet £10 Get £15 in Free Bets (code WELCOME15)

Welcome offer: promo code WELCOME15, entered under My Bonuses after registering. A first qualifying bet of at least £10 from your cash balance at evens (2.0) or greater within 7 days returns £15 in free bets as 3 x £5 tokens with set uses, expiring after 7 days. Verified 18 August 2026.

The Ebor angle: the headline is the smallest here and the tokens have restricted uses, so read what each one covers. The reason it earns its place is Best Odds Guaranteed, which on a four-day Group meeting is the concession that compounds. See our BetGoodwin review.

Star Sports: Bet £40 Get £20 in Free Bets (code BET40GET20)

Welcome offer: a £40 qualifying bet at evens (2.0) or bigger returns 2 x £10 free bets, the first on settlement and the second 24 hours later. Free bets must be used at minimum odds of 4/1 (5.0) and expire 24 hours after credit. Verified 15 August 2026.

The Ebor angle: the qualifying stake is the highest here and the free bets carry a 4/1 minimum with a 24-hour life, so this suits someone already betting in size rather than someone claiming a bonus. Star Sports no longer runs Best Odds Guaranteed, which is a real cost across a meeting like this one. What it does have is a staffed phone trader desk, which is how you get a size on an ante-post price for the Ebor that a risk engine would cut. See our Star Sports sign-up offer guide and Star Sports review.

LiveScore Bet: Bet £10 Get £30 in Free Bets

Welcome offer: a £10 qualifying single at 1/2 (1.50) or bigger returns £30 in free bets, no promo code. The credit is split £20 for the sportsbook and £10 for Bet Builder only, which does not cover horse racing. Free bets must be accepted within 7 days and expire 7 days after acceptance. Verified 18 August 2026.

The Ebor angle: treat this as a £20 racing offer rather than a £30 one, because the Bet Builder tenner cannot be used on the Knavesmire. Best Odds Guaranteed is available on UK and Irish racing from 10am, but you only qualify once you have staked over £25 in the previous seven days, calculated on a rolling basis and applied from your next login. See our LiveScore Bet review.

Spreadex: Bet £10 Get £60 in Bonuses

Welcome offer: a £10 fixed-odds qualifying bet at 1/2 (1.50) or bigger, single or each-way, pre-event or in-play, not cashed out early, returns £60 in bonuses over three days: 3 x £10 fixed-odds free bets plus 3 x £5 Total Goals football spread bets, 3 x £5 racing Winning Favourites spread bets and a £1 racing Race Index spread bet. Free bets valid 28 days. The £5 and £1 credits are spread bets, which need a full spread-betting account, and sports spread betting carries the risk that losses can exceed your stake. Verified 22 August 2026.

The Ebor angle: the largest headline number on the page, and the one that needs the most care, because half of it is spread betting rather than fixed odds, and three of the spread bets are football markets that never touch the Knavesmire. The racing half of the spread credit (Winning Favourites and the Race Index) is at least built for a festival week. Spreadex streams all UK and Irish racing to a funded account and runs a racing spread suite that no fixed-odds book offers. See our Spreadex review.

What about Bet365, William Hill, Paddy Power, Ladbrokes and Coral? The big chains all run Ebor promotions, usually extra places on the big handicaps, price boosts on the Group 1s and daily money-back specials, confirmed in the week before the meeting. We are not affiliates of any of them and we do not publish offer terms we have not verified against the operator's own pages, so check their promotions pages directly from the weekend of 15-16 August. Our best free bet offers comparison covers the wider market.

Going deeper on the each-way angle: the Ebor Handicap on Saturday 22 August is the biggest each-way puzzle of the meeting, a mile-and-six handicap with twenty-plus runners where the place terms matter more than the win price. See our York Ebor 2026 extra places guide for which firms lead on places paid, and our extra places explainer for how the mechanics work.

Our partner pick for the festival: QuinnBet

Across four days where the Group 1 markets shorten through each morning, Best Odds Guaranteed is the concession that pays repeatedly, and QuinnBet holds it on UK and Irish racing from 10am on raceday. The weekly loss-back sits on top of it. It is also the offer that survives contact with the detail. Spreadex has the biggest headline at £60, but two thirds of that is spread betting. HighBet advertises £30, or £60 if the accas keep winning, but the opening three tokens are all 4+ leg accumulators. LiveScore advertises £30, of which £20 does. QuinnBet's £25 is a straight 50% of first-day losses back, usable on the racing, which on a four-day meeting is worth more than a larger number with more walls around it.

Responsible gambling: an offer is only worth having on a bet you would have made anyway. Set a budget for the four days before the meeting starts, never chase a losing day, and read the terms on every promotion. 18+, BeGambleAware.org.

Getting the Most from Ebor Offers

The Ebor Handicap Is the Main Event

If you're going to focus your promotional efforts on one race during the festival, make it the Ebor itself. As the richest flat handicap in Europe, it consistently draws big fields and every major bookmaker offers some form of promotion on it. Extra-place offers on a 20-runner handicap are where you get the most value from each-way betting. Compare the extra-place terms across firms before backing your selection, because the difference between paying five places and six places can be significant.

Play the Group 1 Races for Price Boosts

The Juddmonte International and Nunthorpe Stakes attract short-priced favourites more often than not. Price boosts on these races can make the favourite worth backing at a price you wouldn't normally take. But check whether the boosted price is paid as cash or free bets, and note any stake limits. A price boost with a two-pound maximum stake isn't going to change your week. Our York betting guide covers the draw bias and going factors worth weighing before you decide which favourite is worth taking on.

Spread Your Bets Across Bookmakers

With four days of racing, you've got enough time to use promotions from several firms. Don't feel you need to place every bet with the same bookmaker. If Bet365 has the best extra-place terms on Wednesday's handicap but Paddy Power has a better money-back deal on Thursday's feature, use both. The festival format rewards punters who are willing to move between platforms.

Watch for Opt-In Requirements

Most Ebor promotions need you to opt in before your bet qualifies. It takes a few seconds on the bookmaker's app or website, but forgetting to do it means your bet won't count. Make it part of your morning routine during festival week: check the card, check the offers, opt in, then place your bets.

Keep Your Powder Dry for the Right Races

Four days of quality racing can drain your betting bank if you're not disciplined. Not every race on the card needs a bet. Focus your promotional bets on the races where the offers add real value, the big handicaps and Group races, rather than trying to use every offer on every race.
