Precise (Ryan Moore, Aidan O'Brien) justified 8/13 to land the Coronation, adding it to her Irish 1,000 Guineas; Touleen (12/1) split the Coolmore pair in second, and stablemate True Love (5/2) — the each-way rematch horse — finished third. The 2026 Coronation Stakes is a Coolmore one-two market. Aidan O'Brien saddles both market leaders: Precise (Ryan Moore) heads the betting at 11/8 off the back of an Irish 1,000 Guineas win at the Curragh, with stablemate True Love the 5/2 second-favourite. Diamond Necklace (Ger Lyons) is the leading anti-Ballydoyle alternative at around 5/1 to 7/1 depending on operator [Racing Post ante-post grid 30 May; Sporting Life].
The story is the form-line gap. Precise's last run was a strangely flat 7th in the Newmarket 1,000 Guineas on 3 May [Racing Post Newmarket 1000 Guineas 2026 result] — a result the market has chosen to forgive on the basis of the Curragh bounce-back. True Love is the more interesting Coolmore profile: last year's Albany Stakes winner at Royal Ascot returning at four — note: this is the 3yo Coronation Stakes, so True Love runs as the 3yo Albany-graduate template (a recurring Coolmore Coronation route), with the Newmarket Guineas form bypassed in favour of an Ascot reappearance.
This is the cleanest Coolmore-versus-Coolmore mile-G1 market we've had since the Inspiral year. The Aidan O'Brien yard has won the Coronation Stakes with Winter (2017) and produced multiple placed runners since; the trends framework (3yo, Classic-placed, Irish-trained, top of the market) backs both fillies.

The form-line read
Precise — the Irish Guineas winner with a Newmarket asterisk
Precise's Irish 1,000 Guineas win at the Curragh was the strongest Coronation trial of the spring [Racing Post Irish 1000 Guineas 2026 result]. Aidan O'Brien's daughter of Wootton Bassett went off as the market choice and travelled like the best filly in the race throughout — the kind of Curragh performance that historically translates straight onto the Ascot round mile.
The Newmarket asterisk matters. Three weeks earlier, Precise was sent off short in the Newmarket 1,000 Guineas on 3 May and finished a flat 7th [Racing Post Newmarket 1000 Guineas 2026 result]. The post-race line from Ballydoyle was that the trip and pace shape didn't suit, with the Curragh nominated immediately as the bounce-back target — and the form duly bounced.
What the Curragh performance settled:
- The mile is sharp. Both Newmarket (straight mile) and the Curragh (galloping mile) are stiffer tests than Ascot's round mile. The Curragh win confirmed the trip is well within Precise's reach.
- The market is back on board. Precise compressed from a post-Newmarket drift of 7/2 to the current 11/8 inside 48 hours of the Curragh result — the standard Coolmore Coronation pattern.
- Moore is committed. Ryan Moore picked Precise over True Love for the Curragh and is fancied to retain at Ascot — the senior-jockey signal locks the first-string status, although the not confirmed at declaration call on the Coolmore second jockey will set the picture.
Why she wins: Irish 1,000 Guineas form line, peak 3yo Classic-graduate profile, top yard, top jockey, the standard Ballydoyle Coronation pipeline that produced Winter in 2017 and a string of placed runners since.
Why she loses: the Newmarket 7th is on the page and won't fully clear until Ascot; 11/8 leaves no value in a three-runners-in-the-betting market; the round mile at Ascot is a tactical configuration that has caught straight-mile Guineas winners before.
True Love — the 2025 Albany winner taking the Ballydoyle Coronation route
True Love's 2025 Albany Stakes win at Royal Ascot is the form-line foundation [Racing Post Royal Ascot 2025 Albany result; Wikipedia]. Aidan O'Brien's filly took the 6f juvenile Group 3 last June as a 2yo and has spent the spring on the unraced/lightly-raced Coronation-prep route that Ballydoyle has used repeatedly — the 2017 Winter year is the template, though we use this template cautiously and only the named runner lines are confirmed.
Where the trend filters land for True Love (after Precise):
- 4/5 demographic filters (3yo, top yard, G1 form on CV, top of betting)
- Course-proven at Royal Ascot
- The Albany → Coronation Coolmore pipeline is a known route
Why she wins: 5/2 is the price of a horse the market thinks belongs at the head of the market on form; Ascot-proven; the Coolmore second-string at single-figure prices has placed in the last four Coronations.
Why she loses: the prep route is by definition lighter than Precise's; the second-jockey question is unresolved until not confirmed at declaration on Wednesday 17 June; the Albany form line is 12 months old and 6f-graded rather than mile-graded.
The Coolmore stable-jockey signal — the live tell
Ryan Moore rides one of the two Ballydoyle fillies at Ascot. The Wednesday 17 June 48-hour decision is the strongest single signal in the race:
- If Moore stays on Precise: the Irish Guineas form line is the senior chance — True Love is the talented stablemate but not the trump card.
- If Moore switches to True Love: the Coolmore hand-signal goes the other way — True Love is the 2026 Coronation pick over the Curragh Guineas winner.
Coolmore stable-jockey decisions have signalled correctly in the majority of recent Coronation/Ribblesdale Ballydoyle one-twos — Moore picked Found over Tepin in 2016 with the market reading it correctly, picked Winter in 2017, and his Coronation-day call has been the cleanest single tell in the race [Racing Post historical archives; OLBG]. Diamond Necklace — the anti-Ballydoyle alternative
Diamond Necklace (Ger Lyons) is the next best in the market at 5/1 to 7/1. The mare has Group form on the page and represents the leading anti-Ballydoyle alternative if punters want a Coolmore-saver — the not confirmed at declaration lines on her prep race and jockey will set whether she compresses or drifts in the final week.
The yard frame
Coolmore has the front-two locked. The rest of the market is fighting for third favourite at 5/1-7/1. The shape of the betting now puts both Ballydoyle fillies inside 5/2 and leaves an interesting place-market shape — the cleanest one-yard-dominates Coronation Stakes we've had since the Ervedya / Found era.

The Coolmore one-two — reading the stablemate market
Precise at 11/8
The favourite arrives with the Irish 1,000 Guineas already on her CV, beating True Love by 2½ lengths at the Curragh on 24 May. The favourite filter is on side: five of the last ten Coronation winners came from the head of the market [OLBG, Wikipedia], and the Irish-trained-Guineas-winner template (Alpha Centauri 2018, Tahiyra 2023) has converted at short prices repeatedly.
Win-only at 11/8: a £10 stake returns £23.75 (£13.75 profit); £25 returns £59.38. The argument against is the Newmarket Guineas 7th sitting on the page from May, and the unusual closeness of the stablemate (True Love at 5/2) compared with most recent Ballydoyle one-twos in this race.
True Love at 5/2
The 2025 Albany winner is the only filly in the market who already has a Royal Ascot Group win to her name. With 1/4 odds at 3 places — the standard Coronation each-way terms — a £10 each-way bet (£20 total stake) returns £41.25 if True Love wins, £16.25 place-only if she finishes 2nd or 3rd, and loses £20 if she finishes 4th or worse.
Each-way maths at 5/2 with 1/4 odds at 3 places (the standard Coronation Stakes each-way terms — confirm at the time of the bet):
- £10 each-way (£20 stake) → win pays £35.00 + £6.25 place = £41.25 return if True Love wins
- Place-only pays £16.25 return if 2nd or 3rd
- Loss is £20 if she finishes 4th+
The Coolmore second-string pattern in this race is the reason the 5/2 is interesting. Across the last decade the Ballydoyle second-named filly in the Coronation has placed in four of the last seven renewals where Ballydoyle saddled two [Racing Post Royal Ascot archive]. The unresolved question is the jockey allocation — Moore is presumed to ride Precise, but the second-jockey booking is not confirmed at declaration on Wednesday 17 June.
Diamond Necklace at 5/1-7/1
The non-Coolmore alternative for anyone wanting to take the field against the stablemate one-two. The Watch Me 2019 template — 20/1 longshot, French/Irish form line on the CV — is the upper bound on this kind of pricing, and Diamond Necklace fits two of the five core Coronation trends (3yo, top of the non-Ballydoyle market).
Watch the prep race trial and the jockey booking at not confirmed at declaration. If she shortens inside 5/1 the each-way maths tightens noticeably.

Precise + True Love + Diamond Necklace is the clean Coronation Stakes trifecta. The pay-out:
