Racing results for Saturday 26 September 2026: Newmarket, Curragh and five more

Racing on Saturday 26 September 2026 came from seven meetings: Curragh and Listowel in Ireland, and Haydock Park, Market Rasen, Newmarket, Ripon and Southwell in Britain. Southwell staged the longest card of the day, and the biggest field of it went to post at Newmarket. The feature of the day was the bet365 Cambridgeshire (Heritage Handicap) at Newmarket, which went off at 15:43, and its finishing order sits in the next section with the starting prices as the feed recorded them; the other meetings follow it, each with the pick of its own card. Nothing on this page is typed from memory: the tables render from the same results file the track record settles against, every card from the day is on the racecards page, and the full set of results for the date is on the results hub.

The feature: the bet365 Cambridgeshire (Heritage Handicap) at Newmarket

Pierre Royal won it for A McGuinness under Mikey Sheehy, with Crest of Fire second and Altareq third. The table above is the feed's own record of the finish and of the starting prices. The race was run over 1m1f, on ground the feed records as Good to Firm, with Pathein withdrawn beforehand. The course itself is covered in the Newmarket guide. On the record it is a Heritage Handicap, over 1m 1f, first run in 1839.

The Lab angle

Set against the whole record rather than one day: across every race the model has priced since it went live, its top pick to level stakes at starting price returns −14.4%, and the Tipster League's form leader is Claude at -8.9%. One day of results moves neither figure by much, which is the point of publishing them beside the results rather than instead of them. The market sets a price for every runner and keeps a margin on top; the Lab measures how much of that margin a system gives back, and so far every system it has tested gives some back. The Panel standings below are the strategies Pascal and the Professor have put through the same test, ordered from the smallest loss to the largest.

The track record settles each of the model's picks at starting price, the Tipster League does the same for the AI tipsters it follows, and Pascal's Panel tests a reader-style system every week.

Common questions

Which meetings raced on Saturday 26 September 2026?

Curragh and Listowel in Ireland, and Haydock Park, Market Rasen, Newmarket, Ripon and Southwell in Britain. Each meeting's finishing orders are in the sections above, and the complete set for the date, race by race, is on the results hub.

When does a result become official?

A finish is provisional until the weighed-in signal, and the starting price follows once the return is settled. While either is outstanding the table says so rather than showing a figure it does not yet have.

Why can a starting price be missing?

The feed publishes the finish before the return is confirmed, so a winner can sit in the table with its price still to come. The page fills the gap on the next publish; nothing here is typed in by hand.

Did the model get the day right?

It priced every runner before the off, and the track record settles each pick at starting price, so the answer is a running figure over every day rather than a verdict on one. The Tipster League keeps the same score for the AI tipsters, losses included.

Where can I follow a horse that ran?

The horse tracker lets you follow any runner from the day and see its next entry, and every card from the date stays on the racecards page.
