What is a Trixie?
A Trixie is a full-cover bet on 3 selections producing 4 bets: 3 doubles and 1 treble. Unlike a Patent, there are no singles, at least two of your selections must win for the bet to return anything. Total stake is 4 × your unit stake.

- 2Set your unit stake. Total cost = 4 × unit stake.

What is a Trixie bet?
A Trixie is a full-cover bet on 3 selections producing 4 bets: 3 doubles and 1 treble. No singles, at least two of your three selections must win for any return. Total stake is 4 × your unit stake.
How many bets does a Trixie consist of?
Four bets across three selections: each pair of selections forms a double (3 of those), plus the treble linking all three. Two winners pays one double; three winners pays all three doubles plus the treble.
How much does a Trixie cost?
Four units. £1 unit stake = £4 total. £2 unit = £8 total. £5 unit = £20 total. Each-way doubles the cost (£8 for £1 unit, £40 for £5 unit).
How many selections must win for a Trixie to pay?
Two minimum. One winner returns nothing because there are no singles. Two winners pays one double (the pair containing both winners). Three winners pays all three doubles plus the treble: the maximum return.
Is a Trixie or Patent better?
A Patent is a Trixie plus the three singles: 7 bets instead of 4. The Patent costs more (7 × unit vs 4 × unit) but pays out on a single winner. If you have three picks you genuinely fancy and one short-priced certainty, the Patent's singles often cover the extra cost. If your three picks are all middle-priced and you only fancy two strongly, the Trixie is more efficient.
