The Sky Bet Ebor Festival runs from Wednesday 19 to Saturday 22 August 2026 at York, four days on the Knavesmire with a Group 1 feature on each of the first three and Europe's richest flat handicap to finish. The week runs feature to feature. The Juddmonte International, the richest race of York's season and three times ranked the world's best horse race, opens on Wednesday. Thursday is Ladies' Day, built around the Yorkshire Oaks. Friday brings the Nunthorpe, the fastest race of the meeting over the minimum trip, and Saturday closes with the Ebor Handicap itself, first run in 1843 and the best each-way betting race of the late summer.

The festival opens with its richest race. The Juddmonte International (Group 1, 1m 2f) is an open-age middle-distance championship with a roll of honour carrying Sea The Stars, Frankel, Baaeed and City Of Troy, and it has been ranked the world's best horse race three times.

Thursday 20 August: Yorkshire Oaks & Ladies' Day
Thursday is the social high point of the week and carries the Yorkshire Oaks (Group 1, 1m 4f), regularly the strongest fillies' and mares' race in Europe and twice won by Enable.

Friday 21 August: Nunthorpe Day
The fastest race of the meeting. The Nunthorpe Stakes (Group 1, 5f) is the minimum-trip sprint championship of the European summer, one of the few Group 1s where two-year-olds can take on older horses, and the course record set in 2019 stands at under 57 seconds.

Saturday 22 August: Ebor Day
The meeting closes with its namesake. The Ebor Handicap (1m 6f) has been run since 1843 and is the richest flat handicap in Europe: twenty-plus runners is typical, the field is packed with improving stayers, and the each-way place terms decide more bets than the win price does.
