Galway Festival 2026: the results, day by day
The Galway Races Summer Festival runs from Monday 27 July to Sunday 2 August 2026 at Ballybrit, seven days of racing and carnival on the edge of Galway city and one of Ireland's biggest sporting and social occasions. This is the results hub: each day's key winners, with starting prices, added and verified from source as the cards finish. Nothing is filled in ahead of time — a race appears only once it has been run and the result confirmed.
The week has a rhythm. It opens with evening cards, builds to the two great handicaps in the middle — the Tote Galway Plate (Grade A chase) on Wednesday and the Guinness Galway Hurdle, the richest hurdle in Ireland, on Thursday's Ladies' Day — then eases into a family-focused weekend. Each day carries a feature worth at least €110,000.
For the shape of the week — the day-by-day guide, the two big handicaps and how the festival works — see our Galway Festival guide, and for the two headline races the Galway Plate guide. For the betting angles, the Galway betting guide. If you are opening an account for the week, our bookmaker offers page compares the verified free bets and Best Odds Guaranteed firms.

The week opens on the Monday evening (first race around 5:05pm) with the Connacht Hotel (Q.R.) Handicap, a Premier Handicap for amateur riders over about 2m1f worth €110,000 — widely called Ireland's "amateur Derby", and the race that sets the tone for the festival. It was won in 2025 by Filey Bay, and in 2024 by Sirius, trained by Willie Mullins, who came home at 50/1.
This section is updated with Monday's feature winner and the day's other key results, with starting prices, once the races are run and confirmed from source. Check back after racing on Monday 27 July.

Thursday 30 July — Ladies' Day and the Galway Hurdle
Thursday is Ladies' Day, the most glamorous day of the festival and often the busiest, and its feature is the Guinness Galway Hurdle, the richest hurdle race in Ireland, run over two miles and worth €270,000 in 2025. The day also stages the Listed Corrib Fillies Stakes on the Flat over seven furlongs, won in 2024 by Raknah, and a graded novice chase.
