Naas Racecourse

Dual-purpose Kildare track with a stiff uphill finish

Naas Racecourse lies on the Tipper Road in Naas, Co. Kildare, about 18 miles southwest of Dublin in the heart of Ireland's training country. A dual-purpose, left-handed turf course, it stages both Flat and National Hunt racing across roughly 20 fixtures a year. The track is an oval of about a mile and a half with a stiff four-furlong run-in and an uphill finish that favours staying types, plus a chute that allows sprint races to be run on a straight course. The chase course sits outside the hurdles track. Its signature meeting is the Lawlor's of Naas Novice Hurdle in January, the racecourse's only Grade 1 and traditionally the first Grade 1 jumps race of the Irish year. On the Flat it hosts the Group 3 Blue Wind Stakes.
